I’ve always had the drive to serve others. Working in the federal government, especially on foreign assistance, was a natural extension of that.
Connecting with colleagues across the globe, working towards a better world for everyone, was much more than a job for me.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR TIME IN GOVERNMENT. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART?
Over the past five years, I supported colleagues working in the most challenging environments, from Syria and Sudan to Burma and Coastal West Africa.
IF YOU’RE COMFORTABLE, SHARE A LITTLE ABOUT HOW YOU WERE SEPARATED FROM YOUR POSITION?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of my position with a two-year probationary period, I was terminated very suddenly. This is despite the fact that I have over five years of service with the USG, and many more years as an implementing partner working on international assistance programs.
My favorite part was helping them solve operational problems so they could keep serving beneficiaries and advancing American interested abroad.
What are your ideal next steps??
I’m looking to leverage my expertise in grants management, strategic planning and facilitation to support foundations and social services providers either internationally or in the US.
